Greens back plan for ‘people friendly streets’

The Salisbury Greens have campaigned for years to extend pedestrianisation, make cycling safer and cut air pollution by restricting city traffic.

One of the silver linings of the current crisis has been the large number of people of all ages who have been out enjoying cycling, walking and running in our beautiful City.

Restricting through-traffic and on-street parking to all but essential movements, including maintaining access for Blue Badge holders, will offer the space in which our community and our independent retailers can flourish, calm spaces for cafe seating and opportunities for street entertainment.

We are not closing roads, we are opening them up to all residents and to attract more visitors … a catalyst for a rejuvenated and proud Salisbury.
